My dear friend Wendy gave me this picture of her with Michael Ignatieff at the Whistler Convention this week.  She called me tonight to fill me in on the convention news and indicated grass roots Liberals were solidly behind Ignatieff.   She heard not one word of the discontent or even talk of polls, which actually shocked me.  Interesting how the mainstream media likes to prattle on about how much they are in the “know” on Liberal grassroots picture.

If you believed the mainstream press you would think that polls is all Liberals can focus on and as soon as things get challenging we are ready to throw in the towel and start again with another leader.  Not on your *&^%$ life are we headed down that road or I will be an NDPer before we get to the end of it.  Not going to happen people, wake up!  I suggested to Wendy that Liberals should start a local Ignatieff book club here in Victoria and dig deep into some of his books.  I have read one of his books but I could read plenty more because I have so much free time after work right now!  Yay for me!

This picture is Wendy’s own take on a Liberal inspired Olympic logo to go with all the Conservative logo labeled Olympic clothing in stores for sale right now.  She couldn’t bring herself to buy any of it cause she’s not a Conservative, but in frustration she made her own logo especially for us Liberals.  It’s the O⁵Lympics logo just for Liberals this Christmas because…well…we’re not Conservatives!
