I see a nasty game of chicken is afoot in the US. Who will blink first?

Now Congress is about to vote on a funding bill the president will accept, one that doesn’t offer a path out of the mess. Bush wins, the Republicans exult, the Democrats “flinch.”

The Dems would have to be crazy to vote for it. It would give every opponent Republican all the ammo it would ever need to beat them in them again in the next election. The world believes knows the Bush/Cheney Iraq show has gone on long enough. I would have thought this would be pretty clear to every progressive American by now. The Dems can’t win playing by Bush’s rules.

Update May 24th: the Dems blinked and the war went on and on…..
